This is a horned, redsided dual purpose
breed. It is found mainly in the mountainous regions of southeastern
Norway. It is considered a good grazing animal and an efficient
milk yielder on a high-roughage diet.
Live weight range for cows is 400-500 kg.
Registered population in 1995 was 96 heifers (2 years and younger)
and 396 cows. Semen reserves in 1995 was 27,175 units (44 bulls).
